Academic Scholarships

Academic Scholarships are awarded for high scholastic achievement. The number and value of scholarships offered will depend upon the calibre of the candidates at each main entry point (11+, 13+ and 16+). At 11+, candidates that do very well in the School's entrance examination will be invited back the Thursday after the entrance examination to sit a scholarship examination. At 16+ there is a Sixth Form scholarship day where prospective scholars sit a variety of examinations including a critical reasoning paper.

Scholarships for artistic, musical or sporting excellence are also awarded from time to time, provided candidates of sufficient merit present themselves. All scholarships are subject to the pupil making normal good effort and progress.

Bursaries

Bursaries, which are means-tested according to parents’ financial circumstances and are tenable (subject to good effort and progress being maintained) throughout a pupil’s time at the school, are also available. They are designed to enable suitably qualified children to attend HCS when their families could not otherwise afford it.

Forms can be downloaded from the 'Downloads / Forms' link. Hard copies may be obtained from the Admissions Secretary on 01432 363506 or via admissions@hcsch.org
